FN Round 3: Motegi
all I can say is that this race week end should have went better then it went….
We were in a good position to win this race, i was leading and unfortunelty, it almost never happens, but a problem happened during the pit stop and we lost our chances, when I tried to recover I pushed a bit harder and it lead me into a mistake which cost us to… We learn and do better next time!
No commentsNurburgring 24h! Great!
What a great experience this was! This is the best and most challenging racing track in the world and to be able to participate in the 24h race was real cool! Something you have to try in your race driver career!
I had so much fun in the car and outside the car, so many fans came, they are crazy! They set up any kind of camping, from big to tiny set ups all along the side of the 25 km circuit. They enjoy time, drink beer and have BBQ every day! 200 000 people!
Besides bringing performance to the team, I was really happy I could be part of this project and experience all this thanks to Lexus and my team Tom’s. The hole week-end was just nice, met a lot of new people I enjoyed time with. The combination of having a japanese team which im used to and to race in my country was also a good feeling!
Unfortunalty we had to retire just before the end but still, we were happy with our performance and for sure im looking forward to do this again!

Something I draw while do the track tour…
On top of the Nurburg
Helmut & ” MORIZO”
Our friend Javier from Costa Rica (red polo) brought us some local liqueur….

Formula Nippon Round 2 Suzuka
First time we drive our new FN cars at Suzuka. Free practice went real well, was p1 so no big complains… Off course we learned a lot about the car and made improvements.
Qualifying was quite good to, It was raining so much and the fight for the pole position was looking good after being P1 in Q2 but for Q3, my lap was not 100% right so I just missed it by a blink of an eye to my friend Ben, Loic was 3rd.
After missing pole position by 2 hundredths and my fast pace in the rain, I was actually expecting to fight for the win… But It didn’t work out that well! It was still raining a lot on Sunday and starting from the inside was a disadvantage due to more water on that side, so after the start I lost the 2nd spot to Loic.
Soon after the start I was struggling a lot with my tires, somehow I couldn’t get any sharp grip compare to our previous tests, I was struggling a lot to even keep the car on track.
Only at the end of the first stint I was able to put in some fastest lap times of the race but unfortunately the gap was to big and I just did the entire race by myself in 3rd place…
The car is back at the workshop and I’m investigating this issue with my engineer, always need to improve our performance!
Next race will be my first participation @ the 24h of Nurburgring with the Lexus LF-A concept car! COOL!

We saw that wall sticker in a cafe around Nishizabu, pretty rare in Tokyo and what a coincidence…
